Libretista y productor de televisión estadounidense. Comenzó su carrera en la radio, y al poco tiempo se trasladó a la televisión, estableciéndose como libretista independiente en 1953. Escribió guiones para series como
Kraft Television Theater,
Studio One y
Playhouse 90, por la cual en 1956 recibió el premio Emmy por el episodio
Requiem por un campeón. Fue el creador, narrador y libretista principal de la famosa serie de lo sobrenatural
La dimensión desconocida (
1959–65) y posteriormente fue el narrador en una serie similar llamada
Galería nocturna (
1970–73). Además escribió guiones, muchos de ellos basados en sus libretos para la televisión, como
El precio del triunfo (1956) y
Traidor a su patria (1956). Asimismo fue coautor de
El planeta de los simios (
1968).
